Today I went out and took some pictures at lunch. This was driven partially by my desire to get more picture taking in and partially by me wanting to break the monotony of eating at my desk like i have been. There’s no particular reason i’ve been such a recluse\ recently, but it felt good to get some fresh air during the day.
I like this picture because of the horizontal segmentation. This is a crop (obviously) from a larger image that had 3 more repetitions of the stairs which i would have liked to have included but it started to make the aspect ratio pretty extreme (I wanted to keep the crop where it was on the left side).
I also like the muted colors. They very much capture the feel of this cloudy spring day in Seattle.

This is a picture I took last weekend driving back from a bike ride in North Central Washington.
I like both the color and composition in this photo. The muted colors of the shrub steppe combined with the dark sky provide an excellent background for the yellow of the center line to pop. That center line has an awesome vanishing point near the center of the picture.
I do wish that there was a better focal point in this picture.
I shall try again

I detailed my 3 month post op visit to the surgeon over on the ACL Blog. The important take away from the visit was that I can ride my bike as much as I want now, I just have to be careful about falling or otherwise abusing my left knee.
That’s great news because it means i can start getting the exercise that my body has been craving for the last four months. With any luck we’ll have some dryish weekends in Seattle and I can spend them on the bike.

Just upgraded Wordpress to 2.7.1. New dashboard is the hotness, Wordpress is constantly turning up the heat and I love it.
